Whitby Abbey in Early Morning Mist

During a recent visit to Whitby Abbey we were blessed with early morning sunlight filtered through swirling mist, together with The Abbey’s soft reflection in the pond.

After taking this photograph, I layered it into Procreate and painted in the crows, the boat and the water lilies. I decided to lose the original colours and recreate a ‘vintage’ print in sepia tones, which I think really adds atmosphere.
